Respect our grains

Amaranth, Jowar, Bajra, Ragi, Barley ...... often when I mention these names- I get blank faces. Grains for modern family include only Wheat and White Flour. Ancient wisdom has shown that we need to have a mix of grains in our diet. These have to be localized by geography as well as season.e.g., Jowar has a cooling effect and needs to be eaten in summer whereas bajra is a winter grain

Amaranth, Ragi, Jowar & Bajra are gluten free grains
